Prompte und schnelle Lieferung, Teppich ist schön und qualitativ für seinen Preis sehr gut. Es hat ein paar fehlende Knoten im Muster und ab und zu sind Fäden etwas länger und müssen geschnitten werden. Hierzulande findet man so einen Teppich für mindestens doppelt so viel Geld.

I love the geometric patterns of most of the kelims, but the one I ordered last year from CarpetVista was so loosely woven that it could not be used on the floor, and the wool was unpleasantly scratchy. I got rid of it. In general, I prefer flat-weave carpets. For example, I have a beautiful Mexican wool flat-weave carpet from Oxaca, but it is woven tightly and lies well on floor. Has anyone bought a kelim from CarpetVista that also is dense and heavy? I would like to buy one but don't want to throw my money away.

I am sorry to hear your reactions regarding the Kelim you purchased from us last year and if you were under the impression that it was to be similar to a Mexican wool flat-weave then I am not surprised you were shocked! These two carpets are completely different both in terms of style and in the technique in which they are woven. Kelim carpets are the most common hand made Oriental flat-weave and the technique implies a weaving where the characteristic stair like diagonal patterns are created by the weft threads which are spun looser than the warp and then finished by completely covering each other when they are packed together. This type of carpet makes for an excellent and original wall hanging and have decorated the floors and walls of many homes all over the world for many centuries. Mexican wool flat-weave carpets are appreciated for their more compact and densely woven technique and were created by amongst others the Zapotec Indians who long before the arrival and perfection of looming techniques by the Spanish, were creating wonderful works of textile art. The world of carpets is indeed a fascinating one and there are endless ideas and points of view regarding all aspects from style to fabrication and materials used. This forum aims to provide a platform upon which carpet lovers and beginners can share their ideas and knowledge so feel free to express yourself!

Sweden has always had a higher VAT percentage, but if you are able to register as a company with a valid EU tax registration number you will be exempt from the tax altogether!
