What about delivery to the countries outside of the EU? Will you deduct 25% of VAT from the advertised price? Or alternatively, could you provide Tax Free form for VAT reimbursement?

Reply from CarpetVista : It depends on the country-Which country would you like your carpet delivered to? For some countries we can refund the VAT, but this means that you have to pay for all the clearing or expenses incured and you are also responsible for clearing the carpet yourself. Send us more information on info@carpetvista.com regarding where you want the shippment to made.

I have just received my new four carpets and I wish to publicly praise CarpetVista for their excellent service.
The carpets are exactly what they looked like in the photos and UPS delivered within the established 5 days from Sweden to Southern Italy, even though a weekend was in between.

We have bought two carpets to Carpetvista and we want to express our respect for your professionality and the quality of the product you are offerring.

Nevertheless, we have some suggestions based on the recommendations from an Irani family , very good friends of us , who know very well the tips to recognize a good Irani carpet. These tips are missing in your descriptions as follows:

1) The more simetric the lines and patterns in a carpet, the more valuable it is. Therefore it is very important that each carpet is perfectly shown in your web (I must mention that we bought a Nain Carpet that had more than 2 cms deviation in the patterns and size between the two ends which were neither shown nor mentioned in your web)

2) The silk content of a carpet should also be mentioned as it is also essential to determine its value. It is not enough that only silk/wood is mentioned. The percentage should be mentioned too.

I hope these two suggestions help to improve the information you are providing since, despite the small surprise we had in the carpet mentioned in point 1, we still think you have a good business, good service and fair deal.

Thank you also for your comments and suggestions regarding the carpets in our webshop. An ideal handmade carpet should of course be symmetrical but due to different qualities and how they are made there can of course be variations in the patterns of the carpets. There are a big difference between a carpet that is made in a workshop compared to a nomadic carpet. Also there are differences in the Nain carpets due to the fact that there are different qualities of them. Regarding the silk content it is hard to give an exact estimation on the amount used in a carpet. Often the silk is used for enhancing details in the patterns and those carpets are marked wool/silk on our website. Carpets that are entirely made out of silk are also marked with silk as a material. Mentioning this information above should of course give more information to our customers but at the moment it can not be done since we have more than 5000 carpets in stock but we will see how it can be applied in the future.

We only accept full payment by credit card or Advance payment. We always confirm by email when you pay for the carpet, and also when we send the carpet from our warehouse. We also send you a tracking number and you can track your order on our website or the UPS website.

Can anyone comment on how the Gabbeh Indo Fine carpets feel? Are they rough or smooth or somewhere in between?

But the feel of the carpets, can vary depending on the thickness and type of wool that is used in making the carpet. In this case if it is a Gabbeh Indo Fine the feel will be softer since the wool used is finer.

It is also very difficult to give a definite price on a carpet especially one which is 25 years old, without seeing it as there are many other factors such as condition, wear, type of material the carpet is made of, that determine the price of a carpet. It would be better if you turn to a local carpet dealer who could give you a better appreciation.

Afghan Khal Mohammadi are carpets of a higher quality and with a higher price. Some Afghan carpets are in the same price range as Persian carpets but it's not fair to compare them since they often have different styles. You can also check the material and the colours, naturally dyed wool or synthetic? Feel the carpet and if you like it - try to get a good price!
